1 dead, 8 injured in truck-van collision in Atimonan, Quezon

The driver of a private van died after a collision with a ten-wheeler truck at the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tinandog, Atimonan, Quezon.

According to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Peewee Bacuño, Atimonan Municipal Police said the incident occurred at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The van came from Manila and was bound for Bicol, while the truck was bound for Manila from Bicol.

The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to crash into the incoming truck. 

The eight injured individuals were rushed to different hospitals.

Authorities are conducting further investigation into the incident.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/GMA Integrated News
