1 dead as overtaking car hits tricycle in Alaminos
A 58-year-old was killed after the tricycle he was riding was hit by a car in Villasis, Pangasinan.
According to a report on "Saksi" by Fe Marie Dumaboc of GMA Regional TV, the tricycle was in the proper lane when a car driven by a 24-year-old Nigerian crashed into it.
The victim was thrown out of the tricycle while the driver sustained injuries during the crash, and was brought to the hospital.
“Sabi niya nagmamadali siya. Then pag-overtake niya, tamang-tama na may parating na motorsiklo kaya bumalik sa linya kaya nahagip ang trike,” said Villasis Police Station Officer-in-Charge Police Major Edgar Allan Serquina.
(He said he was in a rush. There was an oncoming motorcycle when he overtook. He returned to the lane and hit the tricycle.)
The suspect has been provisionally released after posting bail. —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/NB, GMA Integrated News
