Injured in fireworks disposal blast in Zamboanga City climb to 30
The number of individuals injured in an explosion during a fireworks disposal in Zamboanga City has climbed to 30.
According to a Balitanghali report by Efren Mamac of GMA Regional TV, 19 of those injured were personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Marines. The rest were civilians.
Authorities said the fireworks were from a warehouse in Barangay Tetuan which also had an explosion last June 29 that left five people dead.
Zamboanga City residents felt the explosion which happened in Barangay Cabatangan on Monday afternoon.
“Para akong nabingi na, nanginginig ako. Hanggang ngayon nanginginig kami sa takot,” said Laylin Go-on, a resident.
(It was as if I went deaf, I was shaking. We are shaking in fear up until now.)
