Biker allegedly sideswiped by pickup truck in Cagayan de Oro

An argument between a triathlete biker and a pick-up truck driver has gone viral on social media after a road accident in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.

According to a "Saksi" report by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's Cyril Chaves on Wednesday, the biker and uploader Jon Tumanda said he was biking along National Highway on Tuesday morning in preparation for an upcoming competition when he was allegedly hit by the pick-up truck.

“So ang braso ko talaga ang natamaan dahil inipit nila ako ng kanilang sasakyan. So, intensyon nila talaga na ganunin ako, na i-sideswipe ako,” said Tumanda.

(My arm was really what was hit because they pressed me with their car. So, it really was their intention to do that to me, to sideswipe me)

Tumanda will undergo a medical examination for his arm and has consulted with Cugman Police Station to file a blotter report on the incident.

“Ang mensahe ko lang sa [driver] na sana ayusin mo ang pagmamaneho mo dahil bike lang ang dala ko, hindi tayo magkapareha. What if baguhin natin ang sitwasyon at ikaw ang naka-bike at ako ang mag-side swipe sayo?” he said.

(My only message for [the driver] is that I hope he would fix his driving because I only had a bike, we weren’t the same. What if we changed the situation and he was on a bike and I sideswiped him?)
