PCG seizes P140,000 worth of illegal lumber

The Philippine Coast Guard seized over P140,000 in illegal lumber during an anti-illegal logging operation in San Fernando, Romblon.
According to a Tuesday statement, the Philippine Coast Guard assisted the Department of Environment and Natural Resources recover abandoned and undocumented lumber in Sitio Binayaan, Barangay España.
They recovered 528 board feet of undocumented Apitong lumber, which was then turned over to DENRO Sibuyan.
“This successful operation underscores the commitment of CGSS Cajidiocan, CGSS Magdiwang, San Fernando MPS, and DENRO Sibuyan in protecting the environment and enforcing forestry laws,” the statement read. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
