Comelec starts printing of ballots for plebiscite on creating new Surigao del Sur barangay


The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday started the printing of the official ballots to be used for the plebiscite to ratify the creation of Barangay Guinhalinan in Barobo, Surigao del Sur.

Comelec spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said the printing of the ballots and accountable forms commenced on July 31 at 2 p.m. at the National Printing Office in Quezon City.

Around 2,574 official ballots, five sets of plebiscite returns, one set of the certificate of canvass of votes and proclamation by the plebiscite board of canvassers, and one set of the statement of votes per precinct will be printed.

The plebiscite will be conducted on August 10, pursuant to Republic Act 11986. —Sundy Locus/VBL, GMA Integrated News
