16 people injured in road mishap at NLEX - report
MANILA, Philippines - Sixteen people were injured, three of them seriously, in a road mishap along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Pampanga province Sunday night. Radio dzBB reported early Monday that the incident occurred at 9 p.m. between the San Fernando and San Simon exits of the NLEX in Pampanga. The victims were not immediately named, but were said to be passengers of a Hyundai Starex van (WKC-856) and a Hyundai Grace van (WSK-435) that figured in the accident. Initial investigation showed the Hyundai Grace van suddenly swerved from the northbound lane to the southbound lane and hit the Starex van heading for Manila. Both vehicles were damaged, even as traffic at the Manila-bound portion of NLEX was snarled. The traffic backed up as far as three kilometers, the report said. The injured were rushed to the San Fernando Hospital and the Mother Teresa of Calcutta hospital, both in San Fernando City in Pampanga. - GMANews.TV
