P17M worth of shabu seized, suspect nabbed in Cebu ops — PDEA

Authorities confiscated 2.5 kilograms of shabu worth P17 million from a suspect arrested in a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City, Cebu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Friday.

In a statement, the PDEA said the 22-year-old woman was arrested during the joint operation of its Regional Special Enforcement Team with the Mandaue City Police intelligence and drug enforcement units in Barangay Tipolo on Wednesday evening.

The buy-bust money, P300 cash, and a cellular phone were also seized from the suspect.

According to the PDEA, the pieces of evidence were sent to the Philippine National Police 7 Regional Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and proper disposition.

Charges for the possession and sale of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the arrested suspect, the agency added. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
