Magnitude 5.0 earthquake hits near General Luna, Surigao del Norte
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck in the waters off General Luna in Surigao del Norte on Wednesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The quake of tectonic origin was recorded 16 kilometers southeast of General Luna at 9:33 p.m. It has a depth of 16 kilometers, the state seismologists added.
There were no intensities logged in any areas.
