3-year-old girl survives being hit by pickup truck in Cotabato City

A three-year-old girl miraculously survived after she was run over by a pickup truck in Cotabato City.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Efren Mamac in 24 Oras on Wednesday, the girl was crossing the street in broad daylight by herself when the accident occurred last February 9.

After being hit by the incoming vehicle, the child fell to the ground and slid underneath the still moving vehicle.

The driver seemed oblivious since the pickup continued moving forward as seen in CCTV footage. Fortunately, the girl only suffered minor wounds from the mishap. 

The victim’s parents said their child was on the sidewalk in front of their house and they failed to notice that she wandered away. 

The driver surrendered to authorities and promised to shoulder the treatment expenses of the victim. 

“Nagpakita po ang ating suspek sa ating Traffic Management Unit at nagkaroon po ng usapan para ma-resolba…Both families po yung nag-decide, pag-usapan  na lang ‘yung pangyayari nila,” said Police Lieutenant Rochelle Evangelista, Cotabato City spokesperson.
