Man playing in internet shop stabbed after being mistaken for police asset
A man was stabbed thrice in Cebu City after being mistaken for a police asset.
According to a "Saksi" report by Alan Domingo on Friday, CCTV footage showed the victim playing games in a computer shop on Monday night when the incident occurred.
The suspect was shown walking up to the victim and stabbing him three times before escaping.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital to recover, while the suspect was located and detained with the help of CCTV footage.
Police records showed that the suspect had already been detained at least five times for illegal gambling. The suspect said he thought that the victim was an informant who reported him to the authorities.
“According to our source, hindi sila magkakilala. Napagkamalan lang siyang police asset,” said CCPO Director Police Colonel Enrico Figueroa.

The suspect admitted to waiting to attack the victim when he saw him in the computer shop.
“Humihingi ako ng tawad… Nabigla lang ako,” he said.
