Antipolo bishop dares Catholics to abstain from social media, gossips this Lenten Season
The Diocese of Antipolo has prepared 30 challenges for Catholics this Lenten Season, among these are spending less time on social media and on gossiping.
On “24 Oras,” Raffy Tima reported Thursday that sacrifice is part of the devotion of Catholics in commemorating Jesus Christ’s passion, death and resurrection.
The challenges prepared by the Antipolo diocese are addressed to all ages, including refraining from eating ice cream, cakes, or cookies every Wednesday, no meat every Friday, and to sacrifice two day snacks in once a week.
Some Catholics said they can win this challenge since it is just one day.
However, in an interview, some say it might be difficult to spend less time on social media since it is part of their life.
The Antipolo diocese also dared Catholics to refrain from gossiping.
On social media, some netizens said this Lenten Season, they would abstain from drinking soft drinks and eating meat.
Another netizen said he would lessen his vices while giving thanks and praying this Lenten Season.
Someone also said he would share his blessings, while another said abstinence is meaningless if there is no change in bad character. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
