Magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolts Baler, Aurora


A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Baler, Aurora on Wednesday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The PHIVOLCS said the earthquake of tectonic origin hit 13 kilometers southeast of Baler at 8:56 p.m. It has a depth of 11 kilometers, state seismologists added.

Reported intensity was recorded in the following:

  • Intensity V- Baler and Maria Aurora in Aurora
  • Intensity IV - San Luis, Aurora
