Woman arrested for pimping 9-year-old daughter to online sex predators
A woman was arrested for pimping her nine-year-old girl to online sex predators in Los Baños, Laguna.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, authorities found the girl wearing nothing but a wig while in front of a web camera when they raided the suspect's house.
The Grade 4 student can be heard crying as police officers tried to console her. Meanwhile, her mother was arrested and is now detained at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
“Hindi lang basta picture, kundi livestream. So kung naka-schedule na yung livestream tsaka niya ipe-play actual kung anong panga-abuso ang ginagawa niya sa kanyang sariling anak,” said Philippine National Police (PNP) - Women and Children Protection Center Luzon Field Unit chief Police Lt. Col. Armilyn Manalo.
(It was not just pictures, but a livestream video. So once a livestream is scheduled, the mother will broadcast the different abuses to her own daughter.)
The authorities will use as evidence the recovered items from the raid, such as wigs, masks, and costumes, that the victim wore for the foreigners who are the online customers.
The suspect, on the other hand, said she uses the money they earn from the scheme to fund the job application of her husband.
“Kaya natin ‘to ginagawa dahil ang tatay mo ay nanghihingi ng pamasahe, ng budget. Sabi niya mayroon siyang inaasikaso para raw ‘yun sa training niya, sa requirement niya,” the suspect claimed.
(The reason why we are doing this is because your father is asking for fare allowance and budget. He told me that he is working on something regarding his training and requirements.)
Further, the suspect said she has been exploiting her daughter since last year and noted that one of their customers, an American man, had already paid her around half a million pesos.
“Ang alok niya, tutulungan niya kami magpatayo ng bahay. Twenty-five to thirty minutes [na] video - normal lang na naked. Minsan, dahil sa sobra niyang galante, pinapapalampas ko na lang ng total ng mga 50 to 55 minutes. Hati-hati ‘yun, dahil hindi kaya ng internet. Almost everyday ‘yun,” the suspect said.
(He offered to help us build a house. So the video usually lasts 25 to 30 minutes showing my naked daughter. Sometimes, if he feels generous, I allow the livestream to last for 50 to 55 minutes. I have to cut the livestream into parts because our internet connection is not that capable.)
The police said the suspect could be sentenced to life imprisonment if she is proven guilty.
Meanwhile, the victim will undergo counseling and will be assisted by the PNP and the Department of Social Welfare and Development before she can return to school.
“Sa mga magulang, dapat tayo ang unang nagbibigay ng proteksyon sa ating mga anak. Hindi tayo ang unang nagpapahamak. Huwag natin silang gawing hanapbuhay,” said Manalo.
(Parents should be the first ones to protect to their children. We should not be the ones who lead them to danger. We should not use them for profit.)
The suspect said she is sorry for what she did to her daughter.
“Pinagsisihan ko. Alam niya ‘yun. Nagso-sorry ako sa anak ko…Patawad sa aking anak. Humihingi ako ng patawad sa anak ko, lalo na sa anak ko. I’m sorry,” she said.
(I regret what I’ve done and she knows that. I’m very sorry to my daughter…. I’m very sorry. I’m asking for your forgiveness, my child.) —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
