Antipolo Cathedral's candle station catches fire on Black Saturday
A fire broke out on the morning of Black Saturday at the candle-lighting area of the Antipolo Cathedral, prompting a temporary halt to candle offerings.
According to a Super Radyo dzBB report on X, the fire started at around 7 a.m. in the candle station area where devotees traditionally light candles as part of their prayers.
The blaze was quickly contained, and no injuries or damage to property were reported.
As a precaution, cathedral officials have temporarily suspended candle-lighting activities while the area is being cleared and inspected, according to a post by Super Radyo dzBB reporter Christian Mano on X.
