Authorities said the vehicle was carrying around 60 passengers several riding on the rooftop, prior to the accident.
The jeepney was en route to a beach resort in the town of San Joaquin when the driver allegedly lost control while descending a curved portion of the road in Barangay Maninila. This caused the vehicle to fall on its side.
The LTO urged motorists to inspect their vehicles before going on trips and to make sure they are physically and mentally fit to drive. —RF, GMA Integrated News
