Magnitude 6.3 quake hits off the coast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck in the waters off Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Tuesday, Phivolcs reported.

The earthquake, earlier reported by PHIVOLCS at magnitude 5.7, is tectonic in origin that occurred at 6:17 p.m. with a depth of 109 kilometers.

The epicenter is located at 04.65°N, 127.93°E - 287 km S 71° east of Sarangani Island.

The quake was felt at the following intensities:

• Intensity III- Malungon, Sarangani; City of General Santos
• Intensity II- Tupi and City of Koronadal, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani
• Intensity I- Maitum and Malapatan, Sarangani; Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat
