Voice of shooting victim in Antipolo pleading for his life caught on CCTV
The words uttered by a shooting victim pleading for his life can be heard in a CCTV in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo.
The village where the shooting incident occurred is the same site wherein seven bakery workers were killed.
According to a "24 Oras" report by Mark Salazar, the shooting incident occurred early Wednesday morning.
A video recording showed that at around 2 a.m. four men walking as the victim pleaded for his life. Afterwards, three gunshots were heard minutes later, followed by three men leaving the area.
Based on statements from residents, they heard the gunshots butthey did not help for fear of retaliation.
“Niyaya ko ito na pumunta sa Barangay, kaso ayaw naman niya… Pagka-ano na nagtatakbuhan na rin sila... may patay. Siyempre, takot na kami. Hindi naman namin alam kung sino yun,” shared a resident.
(I asked him to go with me to the Barangay, but he didn’t want to… When I saw them, they were already running ... there was a dead body. Of course, we got scared. We didn’t even know who it was.)
The victim was eventually found inside a canal the next morning.
“Paglabas ko, nakita ko tsinelas. Sabi ko, ‘Oh, bakit dito natulog ‘to?’… Akala ko naman lasing. Pag-flashlight ko sa mukha, sabog to eh. Tumakbo na ko sa Barangay… Hindi po taga-rito [ang biktima], kasi kung tagarito,” shared the resident who discovered the body.
(When I got here, I saw his slippers. I said, ‘Oh, why did this person sleep here?’… I thought he was drunk. When I pointed my flashlight to his face, it was blown up. I ran to the Barangay… [The victim] isn’t from around here.)
Hours later, a father with a missing 17-year-old son appeared at the Barangay Hall, but said that he did not recognize the clothes of the unidentified victim.
“Tinatawagan ko, nakapatay [ang cellphone niya]… pero active naman siya kanina, 4 hours [ago], kaya kina-clarify lang namin kasi di siya umuuwi pa,” said the father.
(I called him, but [his cellphone] is off… but he was active earlier, 4 hours ago, which was why we are clarifying because he’s still not home.) — Jiselle Anne Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
