Comelec issues SCO vs Bohol gubernatorial bet Lim

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday issued a show-cause order (SCO) to Bohol gubernatorial bet Dan Neri Lim over several public remarks against Bohol 2nd District Rep. Maria Vanessa Aumentadothat allegedly violated the poll body’s anti-discrimination resolution and fair campaigning guidelines for Eleksyon 2025.

The SCO stemmed from a complaint filed by Aumentado against Lim, accusing him of violating Comelec Resolution No. 11116, in which he discussed the complainant’s undergarments and alleged that her child was not fathered by her husband in separate episodes of his radio program entitled "Barog Bohol" on March 19 and March 26, 2025.

According to the Comelec Task Force SAFE, Lim’s remarks may constitute gender-based harassment and child abuse.

“In view of the foregoing and pursuant to Section 17 of Resolution No. 11127, you are hereby ordered show cause in writing within a non-extendible period of three days from receipt thereof and to explain why a complaint for election offense and/or a petition for disqualification should not be filed against you,” the SCO reads.

“Failure on your part to comply with this Order shall be construed as a waiver of your right to be heard and the filing of the appropriate case against you,” it added.

As of April 28, Comelec has filed 74 SCOs against Eleksyon 2025 bets for violating the anti-discrimination resolution and alleged vote-buying activities. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
