Inmates of Talisay City Jail in Cebu start voting
Inmates, or persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), of the Talisay City Jail in Cebu have started casting their votes on Monday morning.
There are 793 expected PDLs who are voting at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Talisay City. 695 are male and 98 are female, which is the highest number of PDLs in the facility who are able to vote.
The Talisay City BJMP facility has one of the largest numbers of PDL voters in Cebu Province. Cebu Province has more than 3,000 PDL voters.
Special voting began past 6 a.m. and is expected to end at 1 p.m.
According to Inspector Nelver Lagutin, spokesperson of the Talisay City BJMP Male Dormitory, the area is under red alert while special voting is ongoing. No personnel are allowed to go out.
BJMP personnel are allowed to vote after the PDLs.
