Lapu-Lapu City resident brings oxygen tank to vote

A resident from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu brought her oxygen tank to cast her vote on Monday.

The woman was spotted wearing tubes and a face mask as she cast her ballot at Basak Elementary School.

According to a Facebook post by GMA Regional TV, the woman is 60 years old and is battling Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), or an “ongoing lung condition caused by damage to the lungs,” Mayo Clinic said.

The disease is caused most often by cigarette smoke, “long-term exposure to irritating smoke, fumes, dust or chemicals.”

Voting for senior citizens, PWDs, and pregnant women began at 5 a.m.
