1 killed, 1 hurt in Zamboanga del Sur poll bets supporters' clash

One person was killed and one was injured after an incident of harassment in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur early Monday morning, Election Day, the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9) said.

PRO9 public information office’s Police Major Shella Chang told GMA News Online that the fatality passed away in the hospital.

“This is a case of harassment between two supporters of two political parties in the area…Meron tayong isang biktima na tinamaan po, nagkaroon po ng injury sa kaniyang ulo,” Chang said in a press briefing.

(This is a case of harassment between two supporters of two political parties in the area…We have one victim who was hit, he had an injury on the head.)

Chang said 19 pieces of 5.56mm fired ammunition and seven .45 fired ammunition were recovered from the scene.

A hot pursuit operation is being conducted to capture the involved individuals in the incident, she added. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
