Pineda mother-son tandem on course to win top Pampanga posts

Pampanga's gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial contests in the 2025 midterm elections are expected to be won by Lilia and Dennis Pineda.

Based on the partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections as of 10:14 p.m. Monday, Lilia Pineda received 701,747 votes. She competed against independent candidates Danilo Baylon (471,558) and Amado Santos (6,794).

Her son, Dennis Pineda, was also ahead in the race for vice governor.

He had 742,250 votes, while former governor Eddie Panlilio got 336,644 votes.

A total of 1,390,861 votes had been processed, representing 97.77% of all election returns.

Dennis Pineda has been serving as governor since 2019 with his mother as vice governor.

With 1,674,789 registered voters, Pampanga is the second most vote-rich province in Central Luzon.  — VBL, GMA Integrated News
