All 5 Dutertes running in Eleksyon 2025 poised to win
DAVAO CITY— The Duterte family continues to dominate their hometown in Davao City as all five members seeking government posts are expected to win in the 2025 national and local elections.
Former president Rodrigo Duterte, despite being currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands, is leading the mayoral post with a huge margin of 646,275 votes, based on the partial and unofficial results as of 12:38 a.m.
Trailing behind him is Atty. Karlo Nograles with 79,750 votes.
For vice mayor, Rodrigo's son, incumbent mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is also likely to win with 635,224 votes. He has a far lead from his contender, incumbent 1st district councilor Bernie Al-Ag, with only 77,813 votes.
Rodrigo’s eldest son, Congressman Paolo "Pulong" Duterte, is also set to be reelected as Davao City’s 1st district representative with 199,114 votes.
House Deputy Majority Leader Margarita “Migs” Nograles has only gathered 48,187 votes so far.
Pulong’s two sons are also currently leading the positions they are vying for—his eldest, Omar, heading to be the next 2nd district representative with 160,388 votes. Meanwhile, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, is poised to win as councilor in the 1st district with 188,324 votes.
So far, 97.70% of the election returns in Davao City have been processed. Out of the 1,006,592 registered voters in the city, at least 759,000 went out and voted for Eleksyon 2025. —RF, GMA Integrated News
