Gloria Arroyo wins House seat anew
Former President and Pampanga Second District Representative Gloria Arroyo officially won her reelection bid in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Pampanga Provincial Board of Canvassers proclaimed Arroyo as the winner in the Pampanga Second District House race around 2:30 pm on Tuesday in a ceremony held at the new legislative building at the provincial capitol.
Arroyo, who is 78 years old, was unopposed in her reelection bid. This is Arroyo's second consecutive term in the House of Representatives.
Arroyo served as President from 2001 to 2010.
Since then, she has served as Pampanga representative for her home province’s second district from 2010 to 2019 and again from 2022 to the present.
Prior to being President, Arroyo served as Department of Trade and Industry Undersecretary from 1987 to 1992, Senator from 1992 to 1998, and Vice President from 1998 to January 2001. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
