Man severely hurt with mallet by billiard opponents in Cebu

A man had to undergo an operation after he was repeatedly hit with a mallet on the head by some people whom he had an altercation with while playing billiards in Consolacion, Cebu.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Alan Domingo in “24 Oras” on Monday, the incident inside a billiard hall was caught on CCTV last Saturday wherein two men were seen running after the victim who was repeatedly hit with the tool. 

“They were playing billiards. Unfortunately, there was a heated argument because they bet money in their game and this resulted in a physical confrontation,” said Consolacion Police Deputy Chief for Operations Police Lt. Harren Ralph Dunton in Cebuano. 

The victim sustained a severe head injury. Police are still looking for the two suspects. 

“One of the suspects has already escaped. Upon investigation, he’s on his way to Negros Occidental to evade arrest,” Dunton added. 

GMA Regional TV’s Balitang Bisdak reached out to the billiard hall for a comment, but no one from the management gave a statement on camera. 

However, some witnesses confirmed that the victim and the suspects had a heated argument.
