Man killed in hit-and-run incident in Antipolo City
A man was found lifeless along Ortigas Avenue Extension in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City on Wednesday night after he was allegedly hit by an unidentified vehicle.
According to EJ Gomez’s report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, a witness said he found the body already lifeless and bloodied outside the gate.
But he’s not surprised that such an accident has happened because of the poorly lit road and fast moving vehicles in the area.
“May motor, hinarangan niya para hindi madaanan. Medyo madilim dito tapos ang bilis tumakbo ng mga sasakyan kaya maraming na-aksidente,” said Leonan Linan.
(There was a motorcycle at the site to protect the body from passing vehicles. But the road is dark and vehicles are moving fast. That's why many accidents occur.)
The Antipolo City Police said it took an hour before the lifeless body was removed from the road.
Authorities are still identifying the name of the victim and the vehicle that killed the latter. The police are also backtracking the CCTVs near the scene of the road mishap to help in the investigation. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
