23 hurt after SUV driven by 13-year-old hits van in La Union

Twenty-three people were injured after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) driven by a 13-year old girl hit a van in San Juan, La Union.

According to Raffy Tima’s Wednesday report on “24 Oras,” the van’s front and side were damaged after it was hit by the SUV along a curved portion of the road in the town of San Juan on Sunday.

According to the police, the SUV was headed south from Bacnotan while the van was coming from the opposite direction.

Based on police investigation, the SUV entered into the opposite lane, triggering the collision.

The female SUV driver and her 14-year-old passenger were among the injured.

A mother and her child also sustained bone fractures.

Police said the parents of the teenager will shoulder the civil liability for the accident.

Investigators said the teenagers were not drunk and drove the vehicle out of “curiosity.”
