Newborn baby dies in freak motorcycle accident

A three-day-old infant died after he was caught between the chain and wheel of his family’s motorcycle in Tagkawayan, Quezon.

According to Chino Gaston’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” the baby and his parents were headed home to Del Gallego, Camarines Sur from the hospital.

The mother was carrying the baby who was wrapped in a blanket while riding in the backseat of a motorcycle driven by the father.

Tragedy occurred when the blanket was suddenly caught between the motorcycle’s chain and one of its wheels, taking the infant with it.

The parents immediately stopped the motorcycle and asked for help but rescuers had a difficult time extracting the baby.
