10-year-old girl dead after drowning in Aklan River

A 10-year-old girl died after drowning in Aklan River in Kalibo, Aklan. 

According to the report of Super Radyo Kalibo’s Annie Lee Bautista on Thursday, the victim’s mother said her daughter was invited by her friends to swim with them in the river. 

The mother was surprised after one of her daughter’s friends went to their house a few minutes later to inform them that the victim had drowned. 

Rescuers found the victim at around 2 p.m. She was brought to the hospital but did not survive, the report added. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/VBL, GMA Integrated News
