LTO suspends licenses of 6 drivers street racing in Tagaytay
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended for 90 days the licenses of the six sports car drivers who were earlier caught street racing in Tagaytay City.
According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, the suspension of the licenses came after a show cause order was issued against them on why they should not be held accountable by the law.
The Department of Transportation said it will not tolerate such brazen and dangerous behavior on the road.
“Uulitin namin, any abuse sa kalye, ke bus, ke jeep, ke taxi, kahit sports car pa ‘yan, lahat ‘yan suspendido yung mga driver niyan,” said Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon.
(We would like to reiterate that regardless of whether you drive a bus, jeep, taxi, or even a sports car, we can still suspend your license.)
“Seryoso ang gobyerno na kapag mayroon silang ginawang hindi tama sa kalye, may consequence ‘yan,” he added.
(The government is serious when motorists commit violations, they need to face the consequences.)
