All Luzon dam gates closed —PAGASA

The gates of two Luzon dams which were previously opened have already been closed, data from PAGASA showed on Saturday.

At 12 a.m. on July 12, one gate at Ambuklao Dam in Benguet, which was open at 0.5 meters on Friday, was closed, according to PAGASA-Flood Forecasting and Warning Section.

Likewise, one gate of Binga Dam in Benguet, which was open on Friday at 0.3 meters, was closed at 12 a.m.

The dam gates were opened earlier this week to release water amid heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

On Saturday, the Southwest Monsoon will continue to prevail across the Philippines, PAGASA said.

Western Visayas, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro will see occasional rains, while Metro Manila, Mindanao, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Pangasinan, the rest of Visayas, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed for the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
