DOTr, PNP-CIDG probe killing of EDSA busway enforcer in Cavite


The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) are investigating the killing of a member of the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) in Cavite.

In a Super Radyo dzBB interview, Secretary Vince Dizon said the victim was shot dead in his home.  

Authorities are trying to determine the motive behind the crime.

“Ayaw ko munag pangunahan yung imbestigasyon. Laging may risk sa buhay ng law enforcers natin dahil sa trabaho nila pero hindi pa natin alam kung anong dahilang pagpatay sa kanya,” Dizon said Sunday when ask if the motive of the crime is related to the victim’s work.

(I don’t want to preempt the investigation. The lives of our law enforcers are always at risk because of the nature of their work, but we still don’t know the reason behind his killing.)

Dizon also assured that DOTr is helping the victim’s family.

“Tinutulungan natin ngayon ang pamilya. Sisiguraduhin natin na 'yung hustisiya ay maibibigay sa pamilya dahil hindi kataggap-tanggap ito,” Dizon said.

(We’re helping the family. We assure that the family will attain justice because this is unacceptable.)

“Immediately, pina-secure muna natin ang kanyang pamilya. Nagbigay tayo ng tulong sa kanila,” he added.
