Over 120 people stranded in Eastern Visayas seaports due to Crising —PCG

 

A total of 181 passengers, drivers, and helpers were stranded in some seaports in Eastern Visayas due to the effects of Tropical Depression Crising, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Thursday.

In an advisory, the PCG said the affected ports were Port of Maasin, Port of Benit, and Port of Padre Burgos.

 

From 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., the PCG said 90 rolling cargoes and three vessels were also stranded at the seaports. 

Meanwhile, two more vessels were taking shelter amid the bad weather, according to the PCG.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said Crising maintained its strength while moving west northwestward over the sea east of the Bicol Region.

Crising was located 535 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 kph, and moving west northwestward at 15 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is hoisted over the following areas:

  • Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
  • Isabela
  • the northeastern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao)
  • Quirino
  • Kalinga
  • the eastern portion of Mountain Province (Sadanga, Barlig, Paracelis, Natonin)
  • the eastern portion of Ifugao (Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo, Mayoyao, Banaue, Hingyon, Lagawe, Lamut)
  • the northeastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Kasibu, Quezon, Bagabag, Diadi)
  • Apayao
