Man killed, partner and baby hurt in bolo attack in Davao City

A 34-year-old man was killed while his live-in partner and 11-month-old baby were injured after they were allegedly hacked by the man’s brother in Barangay Wangan, Calinan District, Davao City.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, police identified the man as alias “Jing,” his partner as alias “Girly,” and the suspect as alias “Jun.”

Based on investigation, the couple and the suspect were reportedly drinking together when a heated argument broke out.

The suspect allegedly became enraged after confronting his brother over the latter’s alleged affair with his wife.

The couple reportedly went home but the suspect followed them and entered their house forcibly.

Authorities said the suspect attacked the victims using a bolo while they were asleep.

Jing reportedly fought back to protect his family. He sustained multiple hack wounds and died from his injuries.

Jing’s partner and their baby were also injured and rushed to the hospital. The baby is reportedly in safe condition, as of this writing.

Police arrested the suspect and confiscated the weapon he used in the crime.
