Woman dies after truck crashes into store in Ibaan, Batangas

A woman was killed after a speeding truck that swerved to avoid another vehicle crashed into a barangay cooperative store in Ibaan, Batangas, on Sunday afternoon.

In GTV's Balitanghali report on Monday, CCTV footage shows a truck about to enter the gate of the Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Barangay Bago. 

But as this was happening, another truck was seen approaching from the opposite lane. Instead of slowing down, the speeding vehicle continued moving forward and suddenly swerved to avoid the first truck at the very last moment but crashed into the roadside store.

A few seconds later, a man was seen carrying an unconscious woman outside the store. The victim was buying goods at the cooperative store and was hit by debris from a wall that collapsed due to the collision.

The driver of the truck that smashed into the store is now in police custody and will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property. He has not issued any statement.
