Two PH Navy divers drown off Sarangani coast

Two members of the Philippine Navy died after drowning in waters off Barangay Mindupok in Maitum, Sarangani. 

According to the report of Barangay FM 102.3’s Jerwen Paglinawan in Super Radyo dzBB on Tuesday, the victims aged 48 and 50, were conducting a recreational site diving survey 1.2 nautical miles from the shore prior to the incident. 

The victims went missing for more than an hour until they were found floating and unconscious in open water. The two were brought to a hospital but were declared dead upon arrival, the report added.

Their colleagues believe the two  divers reached a deep portion of the sea when they encountered difficulty breathing underwater, the report said. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
