NBI arrests 2 over sale of unregistered subdivision project
Authorities have arrested two individuals in Naic, Cavite over the alleged sale of an unregistered subdivision project, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Thursday.
According to the NBI, agents arrested the subjects during an entrapment operation on August 6 and recovered the marked money, a realty receipt, lot plan, a masterlist of buyers, and a lot distribution map.
The victims said they were deceived that the subdivision project being offered by the subjects through a real estate agency was registered and had a license to sell.
However, the NBI said that verification with the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development showed that this was not the case.
It said the DHSUD also previously issued a cease and desist order against the real estate agency
The arrested individuals were presented for inquest for violation of Sections 4 and 5 in relation to Section 39 of Presidential Decree No. 957, and Swindling/Estafa under Article 315(2) (a) of the Revised Penal Code. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA Integrated News
