8 dogs trapped in Nueva Vizcaya fire

Eight dogs died after they were trapped inside a house on fire in Nueva Vizcaya.

According to a report on “Saksi,” the mother of the dogs was already carried to safety by their owner when it jumped and went back for her puppies.

Investigation showed that the fire was caused by an electric fan that overheated.

The fan was reportedly used to cool off the dogs.

Meanwhile, the Caloocan City Veterinary Office is looking for the person who abandoned six dogs near a school and an eatery in the city.

According to Oscar Oida’s report in “24 Oras” on Friday, the workers in the nearby eatery at BF Homes 1, Barangay 169 in North Caloocan said that the residents first noticed the dogs on Sunday.

“Nasa isip lang po namin ‘yun na iniwan po sila kasi hindi nawawala kahit yung isa sa kanila,” a resident said.

(We’re thinking that they could have been abandoned because they always stick together.)

The poor health of the dogs is evident, with one of them limping and most of them keeping on scratching their bodies.

The dogs seek shelter under the parked vehicles in the said area.

Residents believe that the dogs could have come from a shelter that can no longer take care of them.  –NB, GMA Integrated News
