Body of woman found tied, gagged inside house in Ilocos Norte

Authorities in Ilocos Norte are investigating the death of a woman who was found in her home bound, gagged, and partially undressed.

According to Mark Salazar’s Monday report on “State of the Nation,” the postmortem examination showed that the 39-year-old victim sustained wounds and bruises on her head.

Her jewelry and money were also missing, police said.

Authorities are trying to determine if the victim, who was a market vendor, was raped.

Her body was found in the living area. Police said there were no signs of a fight.

The victim’s sister-in-law found her body.

The sister-in-law went to the victim’s house after she failed to return her calls.

The victim was living alone, as she and her husband had separated, and her two children live separately.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the barangay to trace the suspect. —  Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
