Three people, including a police officer, were killed in separate road accidents in Bukidnon and South Cotabato.
The cop died after the car he was riding crashed into a tree in Maramag, Bukidnon.
Police said the police officer, Police Corporal Windyl Jay Camay, was heading toward Don Carlos town when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling downhill in Sitio Kiuntod, Barangay Campo-1, which caused the accident.
He was brought to the hospital but died after a few hours due to the severe injuries.
Meanwhile, two people were killed after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a minivan in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Police said the passengers of the minivan were heading home from General Santos City when the van was struck by a motorcycle as the van driver was making a left turn at a crossing on the national highway in Barangay Magsaysay.
Two other motorcycles managed to avoid the collision, but the third motorcycle carrying the victims crashed into the right portion of the minivan.
Col. Harold Cornel, said.
The 49-year-old motorcycle driver died on the spot while his 39-year-old male companion died hours after he was brought to the hospital.
Authorities added that the victims’ motorcycle burst into flames after the crash.
The 51-year-old minivan driver is safe.
The minivan driver and the families of the victims have met to discuss a possible settlement.
