Magnitude 4.2 earthquake hits offshore Surigao del Norte

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck offshore Burgos, Surigao Del Norte on Thursday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The earthquake was recorded 43 kilometers from Burgos at 07:23 a.m.

According to the PHIVOLCS, the earthquake with tectonic origin has a depth of focus of 10 kilometers.

The PHIVOLCS said the agency is not expecting damage and aftershocks from the earthquake. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
