14-year-old student dies after getting electrocuted in Samal high school
A 14-year-old student was killed, while her classmate was hurt after they were electrocuted by an exposed live wire at a high school in Samal Island, Davao del Norte.
According to the report on "24 Oras" by Jandii Esteban of GMA Regional TV, the victim, Jana, was on her way home when her hand got caught on the electrical wire.
Her classmate tried to help her, but she herself was electrocuted.
Others nearby managed to pry them away without getting hurt, and they were taken to the hospital.
Jana, however, died. Her classmate is now recovering.
Jana's mother said the loose wire had been the subject of complaints.
GMA Integrated News tried to get a comment from the school, but there was no one available to give any because classes had been suspended on Friday. –NB, GMA Integrated News
