Magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolts Surigao del Norte, aftershocks possible
A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The tectonic earthquake occurred 8:44 a.m. and with a depth of 10 kilometers, and its epicenter was located 10 kilometers north, 15° east of Burgos, Surigao del Norte.

Phivolcs said the following instrumental intensities were recorded:
- Intensity III – Hinunangan, Southern Leyte
- Intensity II – Silago and Hinundayan, Southern Leyte
