Ambuklao, Binga, Magat dams open gates to release water
Gates at three dams in Luzon were opened on Wednesday morning to release water, according to weather service PAGASA.
In a bulletin as of 8 a.m., Ambuklao Dam in Benguet has two gates open at 0.80 meters.
Ambuklao's water reservoir is currently at 750.98 meters, which is only 1.02 meters below its Normal High Water Level (NHWL) of 752 meters.
Binga Dam in Benguet has three gates open at 1.3 meters, with its reservoir holding 573.45 meters of water.
Its NHWL is 575 meters, which is 1.55 meters away from the current reservoir level.
Both dams have closed one gate each since Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, one gates remains open at Magat Dam in Isabela and Ifugao.
This is open at 2.0 meters, which brings the reservoir water level to 186.42 meters.
The current reservoir level is 3.58 meters, just 0.65 meters away from its normal high level of 190 meters.
The same dams opened their gates amid heavy rainfall on September 6, with three gates open for Ambuklao Dam, four gates open for Binga Dam, and three gates open for Magat Dam.
According to PAGASA, the country will experience cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country on Wednesday.
A low pressure area within the country's area of responsibility is unlikely to become a tropical depression within 24 hours. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
