Lechong buwaya, crocodile cake served at protest in Davao City
Protesters in Davao City staged a unique demonstration on Sunday as several rallies were held in the country.
As seen in Rgil Relator's report in "24 Oras Weekend," the protest began with a mass in San Pedro Cathedral where a giant lechong buwaya and 16-ft crocodile cake were served.
Aside from the lechong buwaya and crocodile cake, the protesters also prepared 100 pieces of lechong baka that was shared by those who graced the event.
According to the report, the protest serves as a reminder that prayer is powerful to fight to achieve justice, truth and to hold accountable those involved in corruption and mismanagement in the country.
The protesters said that they are also praying for former President Rodrigo Duterte and they hope he will return home to Davao City.
Duterte is currently under the custody of the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands after he was arrested for crimes against humanity in March.
Meanwhile, two main protests were held in Metro Manila on Sunday: "Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon na Laban sa Korapsyon" at the Rizal Park and the "Trillion Peso March" at the EDSA People Power Monument.
They were triggered by alleged corruption on flood control projects currently being probed in Congress and the Senate. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
