WATCH: Kanlaon Volcano emits ash; Alert Level 2 remains
Kanlaon Volcano on Negros island emitted ash on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The ash emission occurred past 8 a.m. and was recorded by the IP camera at the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City (KVO-CC).
PHIVOLCS shared a time-lapse footage of the weak ash emission from the volcano's summit crater.
Greyish plumes were seen in the video rising up to 500 meters above the crater.
The plumes drifted to the southwest, PHIVOLCS said.
Alert Level 2 (Increased Unrest) remains in effect at Kanlaon Volcano, it added.
The volcano had 65 volcanic earthquakes and emitted 1,638 tonnes of sulfur dioxide on Saturday, PHIVOLCS said in its bulletin.

Moderate plumes rising up to 650 meters were also observed on Saturday. These drifted west-northwest and northwest.
Kanlaon Volcano's edifice remains inflated.
PHIVOLCS reiterated that entry into the four-kilometer radius permanent danger zone of the volcano should not be allowed.
Likewise, flying aircraft close to the volcano should be prohibited, it added.
Kanlaon Volcano, which straddles the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, poses possible hazards such as sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions and precursory magmatic activity, PHIVOLCS said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
