DPWH eyeing repair of over 1,000 Opong damaged classrooms in Masbate in 2 months
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is eyeing the repair of more than 1,000 classrooms damaged by Typhoon Opong in Masbate within the next two months.
“Mahigit 1,000 classrooms ‘yung nasira (sa Masbate). Marami doon halos total ‘yung damage,” DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon told Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

“Ang deadline na sine-set natin is hopefully, within two months matapos natin lahat ‘yung mga nasira,” he added.
(We set the deadline within two months. Hopefully, we’ll finish all the repairs in the given time.)
Opong made landfall in Masbate on September 27, leaving thousands of families affected and damaging millions worth of infrastructure across the province. Masbate was placed under a state of calamity the following day.
