The Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered the revocation of the license of a driver after he crashed his car into a motorcycle driven by a student in Teresa, Rizal.

According to a statement on Wednesday, DOTr acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez issued the order for a permanent revocation of the license following viral social media footage showing the driver deliberately crashing into the student for allegedly leaving a mark on his car.

“Yang driver na ‘yan, walang karapatan magmaneho sa kalsada. Sabihin na nating totoo mang nasagi ‘yung kanyang sasakyan. Tama bang habulin at bundulin mo ‘yung bata?” said Lopez.

(This driver has no right to drive on the road. Even if we say that it’s true and the car was scratched, is it right to chase down and crash into the kid?)

“No amount of explanation can justify his actions. Mas may edad siya eh, dapat alam niya kung ano ang tama,” he added.

(No amount of explanation can justify his actions. He is older, so he should know what is right.)

Meanwhile, DOTr said that they will coordinate with the student’s family and authorities regarding the incident.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also said that they will issue a show-cause order against the driver. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/KG, GMA Integrated News
