Cambugahay Falls in Lazi, Siquijor closed due to flooding
A popular tourist spot in the municipality of Lazi in Siquijor was closed temporarily because of flooding.
Flood hit Cambugahay Falls, a prominent tourist attraction in Lazi, morning on October 22, 2025.
According to the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) in Lazi, tourists were prohibited from visiting the area because the water was muddy and that the current was strong.
The LDRRMO said that the water level at Gabayan River rose after a two-hour heavy rainfall, almost swollen.
Among structures flooded is the office of the LDRRMO.
Meanwhile, a landslide was reported on a section of Poo-Luyang National Highway in Lazi. Soil reported covered half of the highway.
Clearing operations were facilitated immediately by the Local Government Unit and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
No one was reported injured in the flooding and landslide.
"Nag-clearing operation kami doon. Passable naman na dahil isang lane lang naman ang natabunan ng lupa. Actually, mas matindi ang landslide noong 2022 dahil buong kalsada talaga ang natabunan. Dalawang lanes," said Frank Sumalpong of LDRRMO Lazi. — GMA Regional TV
